It is a preventive means of controlling product quality from the design stage, and also a control tool for ensuring that products meet quality requirements during formal production and customer delivery in the design and R&D stage. Due to the similarity of products of the same type, DFMEA often draws on the design advantages and disadvantages of previously mass-produced or currently produced products, evaluates them, and then improves new products.
