Course Introduction
The full English name of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is "Geometric Dimensioning and Geometric Tolerancing," which includes two parts: dimensional tolerance and geometric tolerance (the old standard called it form and position tolerance). In the dimensional tolerance part, domestic and international (including ISO and ASME) overall application levels are basically the same. The geometric tolerance part sets datums, allocates tolerances and reflects requirements for parts from the perspectives of design ideas, inspection processes and functional realization (such as assembly), thereby reducing manufacturing costs and measurement difficulty. This course focuses on practicality and intersperses several practical cases (especially classic error cases) throughout the training. These cases will guide learners to analyze the advantages of tolerances in design, assembly, inspection and application, enabling learners to understand and learn to apply the two types of tolerances.
Training Benefits
- Correctly interpret tolerance symbols, terminology, rules and application methods
- Starting from part functions, correctly select datums and conduct assembly fit analysis
- Unify geometric tolerance measurement and evaluation methods and reduce manufacturing and inspection difficulty
- Learn tolerance inspection technology and simple fixture knowledge
- Understand the updated content of ASME Y14.5-2018
Target Participants
- Design, quality, process and manufacturing engineers, inspectors, CMM measurement personnel, and related personnel who need to read, use and draw drawings. Learners need basic mechanical drawing reading foundation and basic knowledge of mechanical product production processes
