Based on the functional safety standards EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129 in the rail transit field, this course will focus on the risk-oriented methodology, explain in detail the application conditions and scope of relevant requirements of the standards, and the work results and document system required at each stage of the project lifecycle.

• Fully understand the most important planning activity standards in safety-oriented development in the railway industry
• Learn basic methods (FMEA, FTA, Markov model), processes and activities crucial to hardware development
• Understand requirements for safety-related software development processes and test procedures
• After understanding the basic requirements for ensuring safe data transmission between signal equipment connected to open transmission systems, be able to evaluate the risk level of transmission channels

• Design and development personnel, testers, project managers, quality managers and safety officers involved in the development of programmable electronic safety systems, as well as users and integrators of safety devices and systems in the railway industry.

• EN 50126 (IEC 62278) – RAMS: overview: EU directives, understanding standardization, railway signaling technical standards, definitions, elements and influencing factors of railway signaling systems, risk/risk analysis, safety integrity, lifecycle model
• EN 50129 (IEC 62425) - System safety: definitions and scope of application, quality management requirements, safety management requirements, technical requirements, safety proof and safety case (report), assessment methods (FMEA, FTA, Markov model)
• EN 50128 (IEC 62279) - Software: definitions, software safety assurance levels (SSAS), personnel and responsibilities, lifecycle model, use of COTS software, requirements at each lifecycle stage, verification/validation - techniques/measures.
• EN 50159 - Safe data transmission: reference architecture of safety transmission systems, overview of threats/defenses.
